Description Evidence for the prehistoric use of the cave is restricted to the entrance area. Under the disturbed loose topsoil the remains of two prehistoric floors came to light, the lower being the former surface of the cave. The natural soil was heavily pitted by small rodent activity. Both occupation levels were separated by a short interruption perhaps after an earthquake due to the falling of large boulders from the ceiling of the cave.
