Description | Nevalı Çori is located on the lower reaches of Kantara Village, on either side of the Kantara Stream, a small perennial stream that cuts the side into an eastern and western section. Because part of the western settlement has been obliterated, probably due to erosion, in the eastern section the Early Neolithic architecture is better preserved. This part of the settlement lay below the limestone rise of Yangıntepe on the right bank of the Kantara Stream on a 90 x 40 m terrace bordered by dry ravines. |
