Comment The mound is located on the riverside terrace on the left bank of the Euphrates, within the boundaries of the Mezraa Village. There are two cultural phases of the mound with a hiatus of about 5000 years in between. Of these, the first phase represents the Iron Age, the second the Neolithic period.
