Description | The Kaletepe workshop lies on the northern slope of Göllüdağ at ca. 1600 m altitude, and it covers ca. 4 ha on a more or less flat plateau of a rhyolithic dome covered by ignimbrites. Obsidian can be found in elongated blocks. The workshop was probably used seasonally (in summer). On the surface, Neolithic products of different technologies and traditions have been found: bifacial roughouts and preforms, standardized bidirectional blade cores, standardized unidirectional prismatic bladelet cores, unidirectional arched blade cores; |
