Description The Middle Chalcolithic settlement (Level 2) is best preserved at the highest part of the cone of the höyük in the west and northwest, in other areas the remains of this layer were greatly destroyed by erosion and construction activities in the later periods. Finds of the Middle Chalcolithic were made in trenches 17I, east of trench 16I and north of 16J in an area of over 100 m², including evidence of a large burnt area, poor quality construction and stones embedded in a gray ashy deposit. Western of this area, a part of a building complex with several building and/or repair phases was discovered. In this phase, there was cultural stability and continuity in technical traditions, but with major changes in the architectural development and socio-economic organisation. The found pottery, mostly having incised decoration, is similar to the "Gelveri-type". More large storage jars occur.
