Comment | The figurines show a Balkan character and are different from the material of neighbouring excavated sites in Greece. They are made of clay and are incised. Special figurines of Makri are the two hermaphrodite figurines and a typical Hacilar VI-I head figurine of a distinctive form. Its presence may be considered as an indication of an Early Neolithic horizon with a possible central Anatolian orientation. |
