Comment | In the late phases of the grill buildings small amounts of wild emmer and einkorn entered the kitchen. The latter wsa more intensively gathered by the end of the Grill Building Subphase , but pulses were still predominant a the vegetal source of nutrition. It is suggested, that the gathering of flax, for both oil consumption and textiles, started in the first half of this subphase. First seen in the First Evolutionary Stage and increasing in number in this stage. The presence of textile made of domesticated flax on the handle of an antler sickle towards the end of the Cell Building Subphase supports the theory that this craft may have started in this period. |
