Comment | The tool-kit of the ateliers always yielded various types of bone awls, needles, and spatulae, string-hole implements that we think were used for stretching thongs or in weaving, different-sized flint drills, flint and obsidian scrapers, awls, borers, small chisels, and "screwdrivers"; and stone balls of various sizes and some grooved stones, all from different types of stones. The stones of various colors, lumps of malachite, broken beads, bracelets, stone tools fragments, etc,, were probably saved for recycling. In one of the rooms of building DI there was a mortar smeared with a yellow substance (ochre?). |
